Mark Ashworth

Mark Ashworth is a Barrister and Chartered Secretary. He joined LawDeb Pension Trustees in 2001 after 12 years with the NatWest Group where he was latterly Head of Group Pensions, responsible for pensions policy and administration. Before joining NatWest he was a research economist at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Mark is a member of the Council of the Society of Pension Consultants and served as President from 2006 to 2008. Mark is responsible for Law Debenture's pension scheme trusteeship activity.

Steve Balmont

Steve Balmont is a Chartered Accountant. He has worked for an investment bank and in public practice, latterly with Moore Stephens, where he established and was responsible for their pensions audit expertise.  He also has experience of financial services regulation and personnel management.  He joined LawDeb Pension Trustees as a professional trustee in 2000.

John Bloxsome

John Bloxsome is a Chartered Accountant. Before joining LawDeb Pension Trustees he was a partner at Spicer & Oppenheim, where his responsibilities included technical and international affairs, and from where he was seconded for two years to the International Accounting Standards Committee. John is on the committee of the Pensions Research Accountants Group responsible for maintaining the Statement of Recommended Practice.

David Felder

David Felder has over 25 years experience of working with pension funds in both the public and private sectors, first at Morgan Grenfell (now part of Deutsche Bank) as a fixed income fund manager and then at Kleinwort Benson (now owned by Allianz) where he was Head of Fixed Income between 1992 and 1998.  More recently David was Head of Investments in London for Daiwa SB Investments.  He joined LawDeb Pension Trustees in 2002 and is a fellow of the Securities and Investment Institute.

Michael Chatterton

Michael Chatterton is an actuary with 25 years experience in professional services, principally in the pensions and broader employee benefits arena. He has experience in advising both trustees and sponsors of pension funds. He joined LawDeb Pension Trustees in 2010.

Rodney Jagelman

Rodney Jagelman is an Actuary.  He was a partner with Bacon & Woodrow, leaving to head up the actuarial practice at Gissings, a City based firm of employee benefit consultants. His responsibilities there included Scheme Actuary appointments and Trustee Training.  He joined LawDeb Pension Trustees in 2004.

Helen James

Helen James is an Actuary. She was a partner at Watson Wyatt where her responsibilities included advising trustees and employers in relation to occupational pension schemes. Prior to that, she was a partner at Clay & Partners (now AON).  She joined LawDeb Pension Trustees in 2006.

Philip Gillett

Philip Gillett is a Chartered Accountant. He joined LawDeb Pension Trustees in 2008 after 12 years with ICI PLC where he was Group Vice President Tax and Treasury. Prior to joining ICI he was Finance Director and Director of Tax and Treasury with Courage Ltd. He started his working life at Price Waterhouse (now PwC) where he became senior tax and financial services partner. Philip served on various pension boards at both Courage and ICI. Additionally he is a former Chairman of the Tax Committee of the CBI, a Past President of the Association of Corporate Treasurers and a former Hon Treasurer of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Donny Hay

Donny Hay is a Chartered Accountant with 25 years experience in the investment management industry, principally with Edinburgh Fund Managers and Martin Currie. He has experience both managing investments and providing investment management services for pension funds. He joined LawDeb Pension Trustees in 2010.

Antony Macwhinnie

Antony Macwhinnie is a Chartered Accountant (having qualified at what is now KPMG) with wide ranging experience over nearly 20 years in all aspects of corporate finance with UBS Warburg, NatWest Markets and latterly as a managing director at Deutsche Bank.  He is a member of the Securities Institute and a former TPAS adviser.  He joined LawDeb Pension Trustees in 2002.

Richard Main

Richard Main is a Chartered Secretary, an MBA and a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute. His background is in the management of large corporate pension schemes and he joined LawDeb Pension trustees from Reed Elsevier, where he was Pensions Manager.  He has served as committee member, and is a past Chairman of, the NAPF City and Eastern Group where he remains an active participant.

Charles Morgan

Charles Morgan is a Solicitor. He qualified with Allen & Overy, where he was a partner for 12 years. He specialised in transactional and advisory work in the corporate, commercial and financial sectors, and gained a broad experience of corporate trustee work. For some years he was a member and then the secretary of the Commercial Law Sub-Committee of the City of London Law Society.

David Kidd

David Kidd is an Economist and investment professional with 25 years experience in the investment management industry, mostly at Board level. He joined LawDeb Pension Trustees in January 2009 after spending the last 3 years as Chief Investment Officer with Arbuthnot Latham. Prior to this he was Chief Investment Officer and Deputy Managing Director at Chiswell Associates for 12 years. His non-executive directorships include the Salvation Army International Trustee Company, Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust PLC and Shires Income PLC.

Eddie Thomas

Eddie Thomas is an Actuary, an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute, and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.  Before joining LawDeb Pension Trustees, he was Chief Executive and Finance Director of a national charity. Prior to that he was a partner at Bacon & Woodrow responsible for wide ranging advice to pension clients in the public and private sectors.  He joined Law Debenture in 2003 and was responsible for LawDeb Pension Trustees' pension scheme trusteeship activity until 2008.

Sue Timbrell MBE

Sue Timbrell is a Chartered Public Finance Accountant and has 25 years experience in the pensions industry.  Sue was Director of Pensions at Transport for London and Company Secretary to the TfL Trustee Company before joining LawDeb Pension Trustees in 2007. She was previously Head of Pensions, Investments and Treasury at the Environment Agency.  Sue is a member of the NAPF Investment Council. She deputises for Mark Ashworth in the running of the LawDeb Pension Trustees business.
